Obscured
The way you become art
The Meaning Behind
Obscured was created around a simple idea: you are the art!
Instead of the viewer admiring the painting, the painting admires you.
The figure cannot speak or listen and exists only to observe. The work reverses the traditional relationship between the artwork and the viewer, turning attention back onto the person standing in front of it.
Symbolism

The eyes
they never lie.
The Anatomy of the Painting
The eye was placed at the center of the composition as a symbol of observation and awareness. Rather than being watched by the viewer, the painting itself becomes the observer.
The X at the bottom represents silence and disconnection — the inability to speak or listen. The figure cannot communicate, respond, or hear what surrounds it. It exists only to observe the presence of the person standing before it, trapped in a state of passive awareness.

The Making Of
Obscured was created using oil paint on canvas in a restrained black-and-white palette. The absence of color was intentional, allowing the focus to remain on contrast, texture, and expression rather than distraction.
Layered brushwork and soft distortions were used to create a dreamlike atmosphere, giving the painting a sense of silence and emotional tension. The process centered around simplicity — reducing the image to its essential forms while preserving a strong psychological presence.
